For Providers

This page is designed for medical and mental health providers who are considering wellness coaching for their patients.

My goal is to make referrals simple, transparent, and collaborative, so you can feel confident about when, why, and how your patients might benefit from working with me.

Your Questions, Answered

  • As a wellness coach, I support positive behavior change through:

    • Stress-management skills

    • Sustainable habit formation

    • Mindset work (clarifying locus of control and building confidence in decision-making)

    • Practical education around nutrition and movement

While this work complements medical care, I am not a clinician and do not diagnose, treat, or prescribe.

  • I believe informed consent is foundational to good care. I work best alongside providers who take a patient-first approach and I respect both modern and herbal medicine.

I also believe that nutrition, movement, and lifestyle are powerful therapeutic tools for many conditions. With that in mind, I prioritize supporting clients in adhering to treatment plans created by their medical and mental health teams rather than replacing them.

  • Wellness coaching is often most helpful for:

    • Chronically overwhelmed or stressed patients

    • Patients who struggle with lifestyle changes, ADHD, or anxiety

    • Clients seeking practical, low-tox lifestyle guidance

    • People who need support implementing recommendations already given by their provider

  • It is recommended to postpone wellness coaching for individuals with:

    • Active eating disorders or need for medical nutrition therapy

    • Acute mental health needs or need for psychotherapy

    • Uncontrolled medical conditions requiring higher-level care

Wellness coaching can benefit many people; however, I carefully consider timing and coordination of care to ensure each client is supported appropriately before beginning sessions.

  • I view wellness coaching as part of a collaborative care model, recognizing that different levels of care are essential to whole-person wellness.

    I work alongside providers to:

    • Support behavior change between clinic visits, and

    • Provide step-down support as patients transition out of higher levels of care.

I also offer an optional consent for release of information to clients that allows me to share progress and discussions from sessions with their care team.

  • Wellness coaching is a private-pay, out-of-pocket service and is not billable to medical insurance.

Some clients may be eligible for reimbursement through FSA/HSA accounts with a Letter of Medical Necessity. Clients are responsible for requesting any reimbursement documentation as needed.
